Product Description

The casting process is used to directly obtain the aluminum alloy used for the desired part. It is required to have ideal castability: good fluidity, less tendency to shrinkage, hot and cold cracking, less segregation and gas absorption. The elemental content of cast aluminum alloys is generally higher than that of the corresponding deformed aluminum alloys, and most alloys are close to eutectic compositions.

From 1905 to 1925, Europe and the United States carried out research on industrial aluminum alloys on the basis of studying the phase diagram of aluminum alloys. Initially, aluminum-nickel alloys were studied, but their casting performance was poor, so nickel failed to become the main strengthening element. Later, copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon and other elements were added to aluminum, and more satisfactory performance was obtained, thus some binary and multivariate casting aluminum alloys were developed, among which the famous silicon aluminum alloy was used for industry around 1920.
